The story behind this photo is that this afternoon I got a message from my host sister who is in Germany through facebook. She told me her friends were inviting me to go to the pool at her friends apartment. I assumed it was some of her friends that i had already met and said yes. It turns out it was a group of people I had never met. They were all super welcoming and we had a fun time. That is how Brazilians are, it doesn't matter if they know you or not. They will invite you over and they will have fun. Everyone is a friend.

6 months...
Tomorrow marks 6 months of having been in Brazil. I left the USA 6 months ago today and looking back I cannot believe how quickly the time has passed. The thing about exchange is this, it is life. Exchange is not a vacation, it is something that is completely different than your life at home, but you adjust to it just the same. I do so many things differently than I did in the United States but it doesn't feel different anymore, it is normal. Now it is hard to imagine returning to what I used to consider "normal". It is hard to imagine waking up and having everyone speak english to me or to not have a host family. Everything is so different. I want to remember every moment I have left until I board my plane on the evening of June 12th.
